The Boy Who Cried Impeachment
My congressman John Conyers stood before the nation on the heels of the 2006 election pushing for a full scale investigation of impeachable offenses by our current Commander and Chief George W. Bush. The whole month leading up to the election Conyers stood firm that a vote for the Democrats would be the 1st step in the impeachment of Bush.
In a possibly historic election the Democrats gained control of not only the House but the Senate which led to the appointment of the 1st woman Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. Within hours of Pelosi’s acceptance of the post she said “THERE WILL BE NO IMPEACHMENT.” John Conyers who bannered Bush Impeachment on his website went on and followed suit with the plan. John Conyers who spoke across the nation on many ocassions about his impeachment initiative has broken down and lost all back bone with the elegance that only a Democrat can. Conyers played people like me for my vote and the liberal appeal and then he backs down quick. STOP PLAYING US!
Conyers currently sits at the head of the judiciary committee which would lead an impeachment proceeding and he’d make the board. So do something for a change and I will shake your hand with pride next election when you decide to walk back through your district.
